INITIATORY DANCE.
Given. By New Social Club Tuesday
Evening a -Delightful Event.
One of the most delightful dances
over held in Brownsville was en-
joyed Tuesday night by the invited
guests of the Brownsville Young
Men's Association. This was the
initiatory dance given by the mem-
bers of the association at their
rooms in the Combe building.
The rooms were tastefully dec-
orated with ferns and flags and
with the charm added to the scene
by the fair sex of Brownsville the
environment was enchanting.
Refreshments consisting of
fruit punches etc. were served
between dances and everything
was done by the association to add
to the comfort and enjoyment of
the guests.
There .were many expressions of
surprise that an association but
two week old should be so far ad-
vanced in the completion of their
club rooms.
Those who participated in this
very pleasant event were Mr. and

a new fire escape. It consists of a
series of folding iron ladders at-
tached to window frames. Each
ladder reaches from one window to

a crank on any floor all of the
frames beneath are unfolded in less
than a minute and form a con-
