We wish to you instructor dear,
As far as Christmas goes,
Oh may the Bird of Paradise
Fly up your pretty nose!________
Not to do our Algebra
Would never do at all,
Therefore, we do what isn’t hard
And count the flowers on the wall.
“Turn in a notebook; write a theme;
And get your homework too!”
All this instructors say,
“For tomorrow they are due."
Turn in your homework neat and clean,
And please don’t make mistakes.
For if you do, I fear you’ll find
The effect a zero makes.

The Christmas spirit is one that most students acquire
at some time during the holidays. The lighted trees, colorful
decorations, Christmas advertisements, and mistletoe hanging
above the door to the girls dorm, all make one aware of the
holiday season.
As we shop for gifts to the tune of carols provided by chimes
and recordings, people seem to be more friendly than at other
times of the year. The jolly store Santa spreads his good will
and promises, among the delighted children who sit on his lap.
For a brief period the community, as a whole, seems to display
a “Peace on earth, good will toward men,” attitude.
This attitude is one that most everyone would like to keep
throughout the year, yet something that few persons achieve.
The spirit of Christmas is soon gone along with the used gift
wrapping paper and the New Year’s resolutions.
Perhaps the reason is that we are too busy during this time
to realize the true meaning of Christmas, or to appreciate the
religious significance of the event. Christmas spirit is synony-
mous with “Love for your fellow man.” This was the secret
to the magnetic personality of Christ. It is that certain some-
thing that makes the most well-liked students on any college
campus stand out above the others, not only at Christmastime
but all through the year.________________________________________

Because exams are hard to pass
And credits we must earn,
We really try and try our best,
But I fear we just can’t learn.
