Dr. Bell informed The Herald re
porter that he would take no steps to
wards answering the letter until af
ter the next meeting of the school
board when he will lay the matter
before the board for consideration
. While vaccination has not been ex
actly compulsory in the schools of
Brownsville as a regular thing yet
at various times when there was a
hint of smallpox cases in this section
the authorities have required it as
a precautionary treasure every child
in the city schools being vaccinated.
The1 trustees have spent considerable
sums at times In vaccinating the
school children of the city and also
throughout the county and the re
sult has been to render the popula-

DEAFNESS CANNOT BE CURED
by local applications as they cannot
reach the diseased portion of the ear.
There is only one way to cure deaf
ness and that is by constitutional
remedies. Deafness is caused by an
inflamed condition of the mucous lin-
ing of the Eustachian Tube. When
this tube is inflamed you have a rum
bling sound or imperfect hearing and
when it is entirely closed. Deafness Is
the result and unless the inflamma-
tion can be taken to its normal con
dition hearing will be destroyed for-
ever; nine cases out of ten are caused
by Catarrh which is nothing but an
inflamed condition of the mucous sur-
faces. We will give One Hundred dollars
for any case of Deafness (caused by
catarrh) that cannot be cuerd by
Hall's Catarrh Cure. Send for circu
lars free.
