tion to the welfare of the country.
To the citizens of Western 'Texas he looks for that prompt
support which must eventually result in their own benefit. I ie
therefore particularly asks them to use his columns for adverti-
sing, and to extend to him a liberal patronage by subscriptions.
It is his intention to enlarge and otherwise improve the business
character of the paper, and he promises to exert himself toward*
making it every thing it should be, by an application of asmuch
of his own time to its editorial columns, as may be necessary to
insure the fulfilment of his pledges. '
The price of subscription will remain for the year at 85,00,
to be paid in all cases in advance. The publishers of the Tele-
graph are authorized to receipt for subscriptions.
