Council held last Saturday at City Neil Trichell 84
Members of the Grandview Lions Club spread dirt and built a crosstie curb on Louisiana Street. The
park will be completed this week upon installation of No Parking signs & more dirt spread over the
gravel on 4th Street.
On Friday morning of last
week, a storm blew through town in
the early morning hours. The high
winds took their toll on the south
side of town blowing the roof off of
a unit at the Pecan Tree Square
Apartments, turning oxer two box-
cars on a train, ripping up fences on
South Circle, damaging the ball
parks at the school and lcaving trees
down.
Television helicopters began
flying overhead and new s vans start-
ed showing up in tow n. The Red
Cross arrived to help anyone in need
and the Methodist Church opened
their doors for anyone that might
need a place to stay or a shower and
a rest.
The town turned out in force to
help in any way they could while the
city arranged for dumpsters and any-
thing else that may help in the clean-
up.
