struments used in laboratory work and simple tests of engines. Calculations
and written reports on the investigations and the results obtained. Pre-

422-Mechanical Engineering Laboratory. A continuation of M.E. 421
with more advanced work in testing of steam and internal combustion en-
gies, turbines, boilers, heat exchangers, compressors, fans, and refrigera-
tion machinery. Prerequisite: M. E. 421. Class: 1 hour. Laboratory: 3

423-Engineering Analysis. A study of analytical, graphical, and ap-
proximate methods of solving problems common to all engineering, dimen-
sional analysis and model study; statistical analysis and interpretation of
test data including derivation of empirical equations; nomography. Pre-

424-Turbomachinery. A study of flow problems encountered in the
design of water, gas and steam turbines, centrifugal and axial-flow pumps
