CROSS PLUMS,H2S
The program for the meeting of
the West Texas Pecan Growers As-
sociation at Cross Plains April 25
has been announced. The annual
spring meeting will bring before the
convention a number of pecan ex-
perts in all phases of the industry
from pecan growing to pecan
marketing.
The program will open at 10
o’clock and will continue until 3 p.
m. The organization was founded
in Brownwood several years ago and
since that time has held meetings
each spring and fall and has met in
almost every town in the pecan
growing belt of this part of Texas.
Since its organization the asso-
ciaiton has sponsored moves for
growing and marketing better pe-
cans. It has been largely through
this organization and a group of its
members that the advancement in
the securing of a pecan experiment
staiton in Brownwood has reached
its present stage.
The officials of the organizations
have at all times attempted to make
advancement in the culture of pe-
cans in this section and through the
ideas extended at the meeting the
pecan industry as a whole in this
section has seen much advancement.
' The program as arranged for the
Cross Plains meeting on Saturday
week includes 12 numbers, all of
which deal with the pecan industry.
The speakers include one of the
leading pecan growers in the state,
W. J. Millican of Bend, Texas, and
the head of the cooperative market-
ing organization, H. G. Lucas.
