a financial problem that seems to be familiar with most
semi-pro baseball clubs these days.
The Colts are semi-pro in name only. Except for uni-
forms. no money is involved in the 45 operations.
Colts qualified for the state National Baseball Congress
tournament by winning the District IV affair over the
Brownwood Angels last weekend The tournament will be
held in Lubbock in August.
Houston says it will cost the Colts some $400 to make
the trip and stay for the three-day tourney. If the Colts
are eliminated early, the costs will be reduced.
Teams in the Central Texas .circuit, from which the
Colts emerged as champions, managed to stay in operation
three men in a row and com-
pleted the shutout by getting out
of another bases-loaded situation
in the ninth. Paul Foytack was
the loser.
