The state retail sales index
advanced less than 1 per cent
above its June level.
Preliminary data indicates
July sales topped fl billion,
the bureau said. Durable goods
sales totaled $601.7 million and
non durables accounted for
$766.9 million.
Durable goods sales were 5
per cent below June levels, but
non-durables were up 4 per
cent. Auto sales dipped 5 per
cent from June. Lumber, build-
ing material and hardware sales
fell 9 per cent.
