bearers.
Following the ceremony, a re-
ception was held in the home of
the bride's parents, with a holi-
day motif used in the decorations
for the home. The serving table
was centered with candles and
the bouquets carried by the bride
and the bridesmaids.
For their wedding trip to Dal-
las, the bride chose a white lace
dress with orange lace accesso-
ries. The bride is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Wagoner
of Pine Mills. A graduate of Haw-
kins High School, she attends
East Texas State University.
The bridegroom is the son of
Mr. and Mrs Gerald Smith of
Winnsboro, A graduate of Winns-
boro High School, he attends Ty-
ler Junior College.

week of forthcoming meetings of
various civic groups.
The Civie Garden Club of Min-
eola will meet at 1 o’clock in
the afternoon on Tuesday, Jan.
14th, in the home of Mrs. S. E.
Jones.
The program for the January
meeting at the garden club will
be on abstract line design.
The Delphian Literary Club
wilt meet Wednesday, Jan. 15th,
at 3:45 pm. in the home of Mrs
F F. Allen, North Newsome at
East McDonald.
The January meeting for the
Delphians will be their annual
business meeting, with the new
officers for the coming year to

the El Morocco Room of the

centerpiece for the table.
After a wedding trip to Las
Vegas, the couple are making
their home at 1000 Boston, Apt,
9 Waco, where both have-resumed
their education.
Marriage vows were exchanged
by Miss Judy Lynn Wagoner and
Danny Smith on Dec. 21st in the
Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Pine
Mills.
The Rev. Paul Knight officiated
for the double - ring ceremony.
Nuptial music was provided by
Miss Mary Morrison, organist,
a cascade of white daisies cen-
ist. Red poinsettias and lighted
white candles enhanced the nup-

Miss Lois Gayle Couch became
the bride of Roderick Malcolm
Craig at 5 o'clock in the after-
noon q Friday, December 27, in
the Chapel of the Central Pres-
byterian Church of Houston.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Basil Couch, 1008
Sycamore, Mineola. A graduate
of Mineola High School, she is
attending Baylor University and
is pledged to Sigma Tau Lambda
'The bridegroom is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. William H. Craig
of 10026 Burgoyne, Houston. A
graduate of Missouri Military
Academy, he attended the Uni-
versity of Houston and pledged
Sigma Chi. He is now attending
James Connelly Technical Insti-
tute in Waco.
For the afternoon wedding cer-
emony, the chapel altar was ap-
pointed with large fan - shaped
arrangements of white gladioli
and Hawaiian orchids, flanked
by candelabra. The Rev. Kenneth
Vaux, cousin of the bridegroom,
officiated for the double - ring
ceremony,
Tho bride, who was given in
marriage by her father, wore a
winter-white costume suit with
bone accessories. She wore a
fingertip mantilla of Spanish lace
and carried a cascade of orange
blossoms and Hawaiian orchids.

All-Star Honors
Bob Lowrance, son of Coac
and Mrs. Robert Lowrance and
quarterback for the 1968 Hawkins
Hawk gridders, was named by
the Tyler newspapers to the All-
East Texas Defensive Team.
And he was chosen this week
by the state’s sportswriters as a
defensive back on the All - State
Second Defensive Team.
Study Clubbers
Hear Of Hawaii
The Hawkins Study Club met
in the home of Mrs. H. E. Dub-
berly on Monday afternoon at 3.
The program was on Hawaii.
Three people from Hawkins
made the trip to Hawaii last
summer, and two are Study Club
members. For the program, Mrs.
Walter Lewis told some of the
facta about the different glands
they visited, and Mrs. John
Bums showed the slides she had
taken on the trip.
Refreshments of frosted fruit
punch and cookies were served
to guest Mrs. John Burns and
to members Mmes. F. Watkins,
F. B. McRae, Henry Spivey, Pat
Bailey, Herbert Fair Jr., T. J.
Pittman, Dennis Russell, Emmitt
Green, Max Pyle, Lewis, Melton,
Patsy Willoughby, L. A. Good-
son. T. C. Little, J. W. Vandiver
and H. £. Dubberly.
Rites Held For
. Hawkins Man
Funeral services for Ray Al-
bert, 88, were held at 2 o’clock
Sunday afternoon in the Burks-
Walker-Tippitt Funeral Chapel in
Tyler with the Rev. Dan Cozart
officiating. Burial was in Barber
Cemetery, near Starrville, with
Masonic graveside rites.
Mr. Albert died Friday morn-
ing in a Gladewater hospital af-
ter a brief illness. A native of
Arkansas, he had lived in Haw-
king for six months. He was a

Venice lace accenting the neck-
line, sleeves and chapel train.
Her elbow-length veil was caught
by jeweled flowers. She carried

Mr. and Mrs. Hob Cash and
Stephen, of Mineola, visited Mrs.
Betty Shott on Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Charleg‘Minshew
and family took their oldest son,
Charlee Jr, to Barksdale Field
in Shreveport on Sunday to catch
his pltne tar West Point.
Mrs. Larry Lewis had surgery
in Medical Center Hospital on
Monday.
Mrs. Don Dierlam and daugh-
ter visited Saturday in Tyler with
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry
Jones. Mrs. Dierlam is visiting
in Hawkins with her mother-in-
law, Mrs. Mack Wyatt, while her
husband gets their new home
ready in Hartford, Connecticut.

lie Frances, to Dean Angel,'son
at Mr. and Mrs. Albert Angel of
Alvarado.
The couple will exchange vow*
in the sanctuary of the First Bap-
tist Church of Mineola on the
evening of March 22, 1969.
Miss Cole, a 1984 honor grad-
uate of Mineola High School, was
graduated in May, 1988, from
East Texas State University at
Commerce. She was a member
of the American Childhood Edu-
cation Forum, and is now a mem-
ber of the Texas State Teachers
Association. She is teaching in
the elementary school at Fruit-
vale.
Mr. Angel is a graduate of Tex-
as Christian University, where he
was a member of Sigma Delta
Chi and was president of the
baptist Student Union. He is co-
owner of radio station KMOO in
Mineola.
