top floor of the chateau. Here
they remained, well - protected
by their high and dry location,
undisturbed until 1855, when the
chateau passed to a nephew of
La Fayette’s great - great - grand-

Circle III of the Woman's So-
ciety of Christian Service met
Monday morning in the home of
Mrs. Roy Dickerson, with W9CS
president Mrs. Grace Wright
leading the opening prayer.
Mrs. J. H. Forsyth gave the
devotional, ending with a short
prayer, and preaided over the
business session in the absence
of the chairman.
Mrs. Wright urged all members
to attend the Zone Meeuhg in
Edgewood, Thursday, Jan. 30.
Mrs. J. W. Shoemaker brought
the program, the third and fourth
chapters from the study7 book,
“Mandate for Mission."
The meeting was closed with
the Circle Benediction. Present
wye Mmes. Shoemaker, Dicker-
son, Wright, George Megason and
J. W. Steele.
The next Circle meeting will be
with Mrs. Wright.

Miss Judy Rudd, bride elect of
Sammy Osteen, was honored
with a Shower in the home o f
Mrs. Leon Cates. The honoree.
her mother and Mrs. Cates were
in the receiving line. Guest reg-
istered in the bride's book.
The table was laid with a
linen doth and caught at the
corners with pink camellias. A
bowl of pink camellias centered
the table. Pink punch and white
and pink cake squares were ser-
ved by Mrs. Dickerson and Mrs
Wilson. The gifts were displayed
in the bedrooms. Around thirty-
five guest called from 3 until 5.

El Chico's in Longview Sunday.
Mrs. Vernon Shott, Cindy and
Karen honored Sue on her birth-
day with the dinner.
Mrs. Charles Minshew attended
the Caffey wedding in Mineola
Saturday night.
Mr. and Mrs. Avery Mays and
family of Baton Rouge, La. visi-
ted Mrs. A. B. Crawford over
the weekend. They also visited
with Mrs. Mays’ sister, Mrs
Polly Hall.
Mrs. Smith in Longview enter-
tained Mr. I. C. Lewis with a
birthday supper Monday night.
Mrs. Lewis and Carol Ann enjoy-
ed the supper too.
Mrs. Don Deirlam and daught-
ers are spending several days
with her in-laws, Mr. and Mrs
Mack Wyatt. Mrs. Deirlam will
go to Tyler Tuesday to spend a
few day* with her mother, Mrs.
Henry Jones, before the family
leaves for Hartford, Conn., to join
her husband.
