A motorist was driving in
the country when suddenly his
car stopped. He got out and
was checking the spark plugs
when an old horse came trot-
ting down the road.
“Better check the gas line,”
the horse said and trotted on.
The motorist was excited
and ran to a nearby house,
telling the farmer what had
happened.
“Was it an old gray horse
with a flopping ear?” asked
the farmer.
’’why yes it was,” the man
replied.

of us are at a complete loss

of such vandalism in our area.
Someone almost completely

Just recently vandals cut up

The Chamber of Commerce
banquet was a real success
due to the work of a lot of
people. It takes this kind of
Cooperation to get things done
and when we all work together
most anything can be accomp-
lished. We especially admired
the handiwork of “Steck”
Walker and Jean Shields in
the “patchwork” flowers
which they made by hand and
decorated the tables. These
were made from scraps of
material and were very un-
usual. Of course we all en-
joyed “Miss Texas ”, Judy
Mallett. She was gracious
and charming. This Editor
got his picture made with her.
We don’t care about impress-
ing anybody in the world but
our grandchildren. They will
all get a copy of the picture
of “Pa-Pa” and “Miss
Texas ”.
Of course the hardest work
was done by Bill Yeargin and
his city crew. They always
set up the tables and chairs
and take them down and this
is quite a chore. We apprec-
iate their cooperation and hard
work.
