Lavaca County Sheriff
The County Sheriff is charged with many
duties. One of the most important duties
a sheriff has is fighting crime throughout
the county. Most crime evolves around drug
abuse. We have a successful drug enforce-
ment program and will continue to make it
a top priority during my tenure. My office
is responsible for combating crime and pro-
viding security to our rural citizens, and we
must continue to be vigilant in our rural
patrols. These patrols help us deter crimes
such as burglaries and vandalism.
We must also do our part to protect our
homeland and secure our borders. As a mem-
ber of the South Texas Coastal Sheriffs’ Al-
liance, my agency has been actively involved
in Operation Border Star, which focuses on
the trafficking of illegal drugs and humans
from across the border.
