back to the Tiger 47 by the walk off.
Three passes foiled to make connections and
Corthage came to the licklog.
"I told Blissett it wat up to him, to make sure he
wont deep enough to got the first down," Reynolds
said.
With the Tigers laying off and playing prevent,
Blisset went 12 yards over the middle, hooked and
caught a strike from Brewster for now life. "That
was really big," Reynolds said. "It was a good pass
and a good route."
Buffin then bolted 13 and almost scored. He dip-
ped the sideline, however, and was out at the 16.
Buffin got three. Henderson five and on third-
ond-two from the eight. Carthago ran scat-right,
sending Buffin bouncing off tacklers and barely cat-
ching the pylon as he reached the end tone. A pass
for points failed.
On the ensuing kickoff. Miller and perhaps Elliott
touched the ball, but as it bounded about Sammy
Cheshire claimed it for Carthage, and then there
was no doubt, on either side of the field, that the
Bulldogs had nailed the lid shut on a stunning vic-
tory.
Defensively, Allison was superb with 13 tackles,
most of them in broken field, six unassisted. He
caused one fumble and recovered it. Also, Gates
had seven tackles, four unassisted. Hardy mode
seven stops, Amy eight and Vernon Hicks seven.
Amy had 95 yards on two kick returns, Hender-
son 73 on four and he also punted the ball twice for
an average of 43.
Carthage plays Center Saturday on the road in its
final non-conference outing as it seeks to extend its
current winning streak to three.
- It should be a rout.
