ter, Daughters of the Ameri-
can Revo'ution, planned a pic-
nic and tour of historic homes
for members and ttieir guests
on Saturday, May 20. The ea-
rlier part of the lay was spent
at the Ebaugh home where the
picnic lunch was -oread and
enjoyed.
Mrs. T. D. Stevens, regent,
I welcomed each guest, led the
pledge to the flag of the Unit-
ed States of America, and con-
ducted a brief business sessi-
on. The opening prayer was
ed by Mrs. W. F. Beall.
As with many chapters of
DA.R, the MajorThaddeus Be-
all Chapter had offered to give
two "Good Citizenship Awa-
rds" thl school year. These
award were presented to Do-
nna Stone Jr., and to Mike
Recce, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Arthur Reece at the annual a-
ward■- assembly of Jackson-

Citizenship Award is a medal
presented to a senior girl or
boy who graduates from high
jchool the second semester
alter being selected to be ttie
school's good citizen.
After Mrs. Stevens, presid-
ing regent, introduced the re-
cently e'ected officers of the
Major Thaddeus Beall Chap-
ter, Mrs. Irene Odom, chair-
man of the nominating comm-
ittee conducted an Installation
service for the following.
Regent, Mrs. M. L. Gray;
Vice Regent, Mrs. Malco'm
Guinn; Chaplain and Librari-
an, Mrs. W. F. Beall, Recor-
ding Secretary and Correspo-
nding Secretary, Mrs. J. D.
kelsay; Treasurer, Mrs.
Fred Heath, Registrar, Mrs.
T. D. Stevens; Historian and
Curator, Mrs. George Cravy.
Mrs. Stevens officially pres-
ented the chapter's gavel to
the incoming regent. Upon ta-
king the chair, Mrs. Gray ex-
pressed appreciation to Mrs.
Stevens for her valuable'ead-
ershlp and actual work in or-
ganizing the Thaddeus Beall
Chapter and in serving so gr-
aciously during the first two
years of this chapter's exis-
tence. In behalf of the chapt-
er, Mrs. Gray presented to
Mrs. Stevens a DAR "Ex-Re-
gent's " bar and said that the
chapter would have preferred
to give the "Organizing Reg-
ent's " bar but that Mrs.Ste-
vens a'ready had this as a gift
trorn a loved one.
During the day, set aside for
historic tours, the chapter
members and guests enjoyed
eeing and hearing about two
very interesting places, both
of which have been designated
as Medallion Homes and now
be¿r the plaque presented by
the Texas Historical Society.
Before noon, by request, Mrs.
Ebaugh took the group from
place to place over her home
and to'd about many of the re -
ics of other days that have
been kept and preserved by
former generations. The Eb-
augh home was built by Mrs.
Ebaugh's grandfather, W. A.
Brown. Mrs. Ebaugh'- fami-
y has many relics here, too.
In the afternoon, the group
went for a guided tour of the
Goodman Museum at 624 No-
rth Broadway in Tyler. Quite
some time, was spent here be-
cause there is much to see and
appreciate as part of the Am-
erican heritage.

Pamela Sue Weaver was hos-
tess to an informal Coke party
given at her home at 6;OOP.M.
May 25, for a few close fri-
ends. On arrival guests sign-
ed a white tab'ecloth as agu-
est book. Refreshments cons-
isted of various chips, dips
and Iced drinks. Guests enjo-
yed an evening of dancing and
colored television.
