This is the final week of the series. From top left they

giving Dinner Thursday even-
ing, November 16 at the home

The menu consisted of tur
key and dressing, tos'-ed sa
lad, fruit salad, green beans,
baked sweet potatoes, i?reen
peas, cranberry sauce,relish
tray, hot roll-- and butrer,
iced tea, and variáis pies.
The buffet table was cover-

Members ate at individual
tables decorated in the
Thanksgiving theme. Turkey
placards marked seals for
the members.

President, presided at the
business meeting. The mem
tiers decided to enter a float
and a duchess in the Rusk
Chamber of Commerce C'hr

cember 1st. Mrs. Anita Chap
man was elected Chrtstmas
duchess.
Memtiers brought canned
(roods to the meeting to lie
used to give a needy family
a happy Thanksgiving.

Mrs. I inda McClure, Mrs.

men, Mrs. Ann Mcl.lroy, and
Mrs. Patterson.
Mr. E. R. Gregg, chair-
man of the committee for the
Restoration of the birthplace
of Gov. Jim Hogg at Jim Hogtf
State Park, spoke to the Ru^k
Garden Club at their regular
meeting November 15th at 3;30
p.m. in the New Southern Mo-
tel. Mrs. Carl Wlpprechtand
Miss Flaye Black were co-
hostesses for the meeting.
Casa Club Has Two Nov. Meets
The Casa Home Demons-
traron Club held their first
November meeting at the
home of Mr1-. George Nelson.
A discussion of Mental Heal-
th was the program. Mrs.
Nelson served pie and cof
fee to the following members
present; Mrs. f-.sther Mae
Durrett, Mrs. T. W. Fisher
and Mrs. Theo Mathews.
The club'' second meeting
of rhr month was held In the
Council Room at the Court-
house on November 20th at
7 p.m. with Miss Johnnie Lou
Weatherly, County Home De-
monstration Agent, giving the
program.
Miss Weatherly gave a talk
on nutrition. She mentioned
quick breads and cereals to
serve at any time, and told
of many ways to save time
during the rush of Christmas.
Dhe demonstrated Apricot and
Prune Bread, which was de-
licious.
The plans for delivering the
Christmas gifts to the Lufkln
state School were also made.
Tney also planned a birth-
day treat for their protege
in the school. The club's
Christmas party will be an
event of December 18.
Mr. Gregg gave a most
interesting talk and pointed
out ways the garden club could
assist in the p-oject. He
stressed the Importance of
finding furniture of the period
of the old Hogg home.
Mrs. Louis Penney pre-
sided at the meeting. Miss
Black, program chairman,
called on Mrs. T. W. Fisher
who spoke briefly on "Seeds
of Courage, Beauty Grows".
The members all brought
gifts for the Iris Garden Club
at Rusk State Hospital.
The members were seated
at a long table covered with
a white linen cloth centered
with cornucopia filled with
three shades of marigold
and various fruit. Delicious
pie and coffee was served.
Members present other
than those already have been
mentioned were Mesdames S.
L. R. Cartlidge, Esther Mae
Dun-err, Otto Guenther, W.H.
Hanna, Jack Pinson, Marvin
Roten, Alvin Sherman, J. E.
Wallace, Frank Coupland and
a guest Mrs. Charlie Mar-
shall.
