4-H Christmas Parties
Three 4-H Clubs enjoyed ga-
mes and fun and perhaps most
of all the tasty refreshments
last week as they had their
Christmas parties for 1969.
The Llnwood 4-H Club met
In the home of Mr. and Mrs,
Grady C. Slngletary of Alto,
Wednesday afternoon, The 4-
H'ers enjoyed refreshments
prepared by Mrs. Slngletary,
Adult Leader for the club. Af-
ter the members exchanged
gifts Ann Slngletary led In gr-
oup fames.
The Rusk 4-H Club had Its
Christmas party Thursday af-
ternoon In the Council Room
of the County Courthouse In
Rusk. The members brought
gifts for the I ufkln State Sc-
hool Gift Drive, exchanged and
opened them, and then placed
them under the Christmas
tree for later delivery to the
State School. The refresh-
ments were enjoyed and the
games were lively, as the
Rusk 4-lfers shared Christ-
mas cheer.
The Ponta 4-H'ers held their
party last Thursday night in
the Community Center lri Pon-
ta. After a short business
meeting concerned with plan-
ning the January 1970, prog-
ram, the group turned to the
special tree where the gifts
were located and the excite-
ment began. Aslo, the re-
freshment table drew quite a
lot of attention as cookies of
all types, brownies and other
tasty Items were wholly en-
Joyed. Fcur 4-lfers Don par-
sons received as his gift four
multi-colored blocks with the
Object of lining them up lnal-
••matlng color schemes. In-
ftant Insanity, as the blocks
•re called, and as Don con-
cluded, It was just that. As
far as we know, the blocks are
still out of order! Adult Lea-
ders Mrs. Calvin Jlnklns,
Mrs, Joe Jackson, Mrs. Doug-
las Parsons and Mrs. Glenn
Cobb provided refreshments
and the trimmings.
