Mr. and Mrs. Otho J. Cow-
art Sr. will be honored at
a reception hosted by their
childen on their Golden Wed.
ding Anniversary on Saturday
June 19th from 2:00 to 5:00
p.m. at the First National
Bank Building in Palestine,
Texas.
Mr. Cowart, son of the late
Mr, and Mrs. S.J, Cowart and
Miss Tiny Bell Felderdaugh-
ter of the late Doc and Is-
adora Felder were married
in Alto on Sunday the 19th
of June 1921 and traveled to
Houston for their honeymoon.
They made their home there
for the next 46 years. Their
three children were born in
Houston. Mr. O.J. Cowart
Jr. still resides in Houston
with his wife Hsther, at 830
Riedel and is vice-president
of Kieth Air Conditioning.
Rev. and Mrs. H. Seborn
Cowart live in Duncanville,
Texas where is pastor of the
First Assembly of God
Church. Their daughter
Je^nette, now Mrs. R. A'
Wilkerson resides in Graham,
Texas with her husband Ray-

art have eight grandchild-
ren and four great-grand-
children.
Shortly after going to Hous-
ton in 1921, Mr, Cowart was
employed by the senior Mr.
Howard Hughes and worked
for the Hughes Tool Company
for 36 1/2 years until his
retirement in 1959,
Since his retirement the
Cowart's have traveled exten-
sively through Europe,Mex-
ico, The British West Indies,
Canada and 44 of the United
States. They now reside in
Palestine, Texas át 2421
Crockett Road where they
háve lived the past two years,
Mr. and Mrs. Cowart will be
happy to greet their many rel-
ative9 and friends at the rec-
eption.

Fires In May
Reports Chief
Reports from the Rusk Vol-
unteer Fire Department show
no fires occuring within the
city during the month of May.
Fire Chief Leslie Wilcox
commented that it is a pleas-
ure to see a month goby with-
out a fire and urges the citi-
zens of Rusk to try and make
it months instead of just a
month.
Rural fires occuring last
month numbered four; a car
owned by Mr. WocJs caught
fire on the Gallatin road May
3, the residence of Joe Bailey
approximately two miles
north of Ponta was the scene
of a fire May 4th, Bob Cham-
bers reported a grass fire on
the Ponta highway May 25 and
firemen wefe summoned to a
woods fire at the dump
grounds May 27th
