THESE THREE LOVELY young ladies are
members of the Gregg County Campanas De
Plata Drill Team (Bells of Silver^ directed
by Mrs. Edith Beisch of Longview. The
group has 44 members and part of the group
appeared as a team at the 11th Annual Twirl-
ing Festival here Saturday. They carried
home the first place trophy in the Junior
Ensemble Division. Left to right are Rhonda
Pope, Drum Major, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Beisch of Longview; Teri Brown,
Assistant Drum Major, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Jerry Brown of Longview; and Becky

Sorority Makes Plans For Projects
A number of service pro
jects and other activities were
discussed at the regular
meeting of the Alpha Alpha
Gamma Chapter of Beta Sig
ma Phi Monday evening in the
Community Room of First
State Bank. Mrs. Orville
Lynn Johnson was hostess for
the meeting.
Mrs. Jimmey Ramey, chap,
ter president, presided over
the business rneenng.
The members voted to as.
sit the Rusk Jaycee\ with
their Chili Supper March 3rd
by making homemade des-
serts to be served. The
supper will be held in 'he
High School Cafeteria and the
menu will include chili,
crackers, tea, coffee and the
dessert. Proceeds from the
event will be used to benefit
Mrs. Jerri I emmon, victim
of a kidney disease.
In other a rion the members
voted to "adopt" a forgotten
patient at Rusk State Hospital.
The patient will be rem-
embered by the sorority on
special occasions such as hoi.
idays, birthdays, etc. The
project will be under the lir
ection of the Service Com-
mittee, Mrs. Danny Christ-
opher, chairman.
Mrs. Lem Derrington, Ways
and Means Chairman, re-
ported on plans for the Cos-
pel Concert to !>e presented
by the Singing Joe Cruse Fam-
ily here March 10th. The con-
cert will be sponsored by the
so-ority group. It will begin
at 7;30p.m. in the Junior High
School Auditorium, sorority
members were given ticket-
to sell. Advance tickets are
$1.25 for adult and for
students. Tickets at the door
will be $1.50 for idults and
75if for students.

Linda Dagle
Graduates
With Honors
Linda Hugghins Dagle of
Hardin was a high honor
graduate at Lamar Unlver
sity fall commencement on
December 18th, She was rec-
ognized in a group of six whose
grade averages were between
3.65 and 3.79. There were a
total of 31 honor graduates
among the 406 candidates.
She received a Bachelor of
Science Degree and Teacher
Certification in Vocational
Homemaking.
Mrs. Dagle was a Member
of Phi Kappa Phi, national
Home Economics honor soc-
iety; Kappa Omicron Phi, na
tional Home Economics honor
society; Lamar Chapter of
American Home Economics
Association; and TSTA.
She received a scholarship
from the Sabine Area Unit
of AHEA for the fall semes-
ter. Mrs. Dagle istliedaugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. C.J.
Hugghins of Rusk. She at
tended Rusk schools and is
a graduate of Hull Daisetta
High School. She is married
to Troy Dagle and they have
two children, Burke, 7 and
Lesley, 4. The Dagles have
been residents of Hardin for
one year. They are active
members of Hardin Baptist
Church. Mr. Dagle is the
Elementary Principal atHar
din School.
