Tax Myth Exploded
The myth that corporations
have received too much tax
relief—as compared with in-
dividuals—is simply not true,
according to the National As-
sociation of Manufacturers.
U.S. Treasury Department
statistics show the following
results of major tax legisla-
tion since 1969:
For the years 1969-1972:
Corporate income tax reve-
nues increased by $4.9 billion;
Individual income tax rev-
enues decreased by $18.9
billion.
For the years 1969-1980, if
there are no further changes
in the tax laws, it is estimated
that net corporate income tax
revenues will have decreased
by $8.1 billion compared with
a whopping $140.7 billion rev-
enue decline which is expected
in individual income taxes
during this period.
