Funeral services for Lewis
A. Overall, 15, of Rusk were
held at 2 p.m. Friday in the
Wallace Funeral Home Chapel
with the Rev. Grover ."albert
and the Rev. Bill Stowell
officiating. Burial was in the
Taylor Cemetery.
The vouth died Wednesday in
the Texas Children's Hospital
in Houston, following a short
illness. He was a ninth grade
student at Rusk High School
and a member of the First
Baptist Church.
Survivors include his
mother, Mrs. Shirley Overall
of Shreveport; his father,
Barney Overall of Shreveport
and his grandmothers, Mrs.
Lula Mitchell, with whom he
lived and Mrs. Virgie Overall,
both of Rusk.
Pallbearers were Ricky
Hassell, Robert Brooks, Steve
Slover, Jeff Boone, Ricky
Rasberry and Bill Knight

Final rites for Mrs. Martha
Ann Beasley, 44, of Rusk were
held at 4 p.m. Friday in the
Wallace Funeral Chapel with
the Rev. Grover Talbert
officiating. Interment was in
the Salem Cemetery.
Mrs. Beasley was found dead
of apparent self-inflicted gun-
shot wounds at 3 p.m.
Wednesday in her home on
Ellis Street.
Justice of the Peace Abner
Webb ruled the death as a
suicide. He said that she was
shot in the chest.
Mrs. Beasley was born near
Rusk and had lived in the area
most of her life. She had been
employed at Lufkin State
School, Abilene State School
and Rusk State Hospital. She
was a member of the First
Baptist Church.
she is survived by her
husband, George Beasley of
Rusk; three sons. James Andy
Beasley, Robert Beasley and
John Beasley, all of Rusk; her
mother, Mrs Pearl McLeod of
Rusk, three sisters, Mrs D A
McVicker of Rusk, Mrs
Charlie Greene, of Killeen and
Mrs. E.G. Barnes Jr. of Irving.
Serving as pallbearers were
Vernon Ross, Robert D Lively,
Vinson Roper, Larry Straw-
ther. Earl Ross and Jerry
Beasley.

false alarm during the month
of July
City alarms included a
woods fire on Euclid Street; a
car fire on N. Main and the site
of a wreck on Highway 84 West.
Firemen were called to wash
the gas and glass from the
scene in order to prevent a fire.
Volunteer firemen answered
four calls in (he country during
July These included a stove on
fire at the Buck Collins
residence on the Mt. Hope
Road, a house at Moon City; a
car on the Salem Road and a
sawdust pile
