The Methodist Church of
Rusk was the scene Friday
evening August 10, for tne
candlelight ceremony uniting
in marriage Miss Kathy Fisher
and James Kenneth Wallace,
Jr.
The bride is the daughter of
Dr. and Mrs. James V. Fisher
and Mr. Wallace is tii« sun of
Mrs. Jo Anne Wallace and Mr.
James Kenneth Wallace/all of
Rusk.
The Rev. Ben Allen Pierce,
pastor of the Wesley United
Methodist Church Longview
and Rev. Grover Talbert
pastor of the Rusk First
Baptist Church officiated for
the double ring ritual.
The vows were repeated
before a background of candle
trees and seven tiered can-
delbra holding blue tapers and
decorated with pink gladoli
and carnations, blue mums,
carnations, asters and daisies
At either side of the prayer
bench stood two massive
arrangements of gladioli, car
nations, daisies, mums and
asters. Thechoir rail, back and
sides of the altar were lined
with chrysanthemums The
pews were marked with
wrought iron pew markers
which were topped with
blue votive lights, blue bows
and smilax The church
windows held arrangements of
blue votive lights and smilax
John C Williams III played
the traditional wedding music
and also accompanied Miss
Kathy Hardy of Tyler who sang
Walk Hand In Hand With Me"
and "The Wedding Song "
Following the benediction Miss
Hardy sang "O Perfect lx)ve "
Dr Fisher gave his daughter
in marriage The bride wore a
gown designed from ivory
faille and English net The
molded empire bodice of
English net was designed w ith
crescent yoke, snow flaked in
>earls and interspersed with
pearl vining The collar was a
narrow Victorian stand-up
effect designed from re
embroidered Alencon florals
centered with a cluster of
pearls Appliques of florals in
cluster formation appeared
over the entire bodice with
large pearl centered florals
again reappearing as an
empire accent Long tapered
sleeves of English net were
averlaid from the shoulder to
the wrist in sculptured Alencon
motifs in various sizes and
shapes, all of which were
embroidered in irridescents
arid pearls A scalloped effect
at ihe wrist with a hint of the
jewels emphasized the sleeve
length. The A-line skirt was
enhanced over the front with
appliques ranging in size from
single miniature Alencon flo-
rals to large floral clusters
embroidered in pearls an
irridescents. The jeweled
motifs were interspersed with
unadorned single lace florals
Back fullness across the skirt
at the empire line formed an
attached train that cascaded to
chapel length. A train length
imported Mantilla was caught
to a Renaissance cap of
English illusion completely
veiled in re-embroidered Alen-
con lace. The Mantilla circle at
lengths edges was elaborate
with Alencon bouquets and
floral appliques. A sculptured
Alencon frame widened from
the headpiece graduating into
narrow ness down either side in
profile fashion became quite
wide at the length of the train
with re-embroidered scallops
appearing at the lower edge
The bride carried a cascade
bouquet of roses and star
flowers
Mrs Tom Gautreaux of
Houston was her sisters
matron of honor and Miss
Janet Hill of Rusk was maid of
honor. Bridesmaids were Miss
Candy Ovsup and Miss Lisa
Wallace, sister of the groom,
both of Rusk They wore blue
floral chiffon dresses featuring
V-necks, high set in waistbands
and butterf¡> sleeves. They
carried bouquets of pink and
bluf" carnations and wore the
same flowers in their hair.
Johnny Gilinore of Rusk was
the best man. Groomsmen
were Mike Sharp of Houston.
David Elliott of Lake Jackson,
cousins of the groom and
Jimmy Richards of Rusk
Ushers were Gary and Mark
Fisher, brothers of the bride.
Frank Morgan of Rusk and
Jeff Yocom of Henderson
Candles were lit by Gary and
Mark Fisher
Mrs. Fisher wore a deep
lavender chiffon dress styled
with a V-neck, draped fitted
waist and a full length half
cape Mrs Wallace wore pink
chiffon with long sleeves,
aocordian pleated collar ad
skirt flounce Both mothers
wore flowers in their hair
Following the ceremony,
guests were greeted ,at
reception held in the fellow-
ship hall. In the bride and
groom their parents and
attendants.

The bride is a graduate of
Sam Houston State University
and the bridegroom graduated
from Stephen F Austin State
University. Both Mr and Mrs
Day art employed by the
Crosby School District.

Mrs. T M Haddock and
children, Aduerme and Bryan,
have returned from a two
month visit with ("apt 'I M
Haddock in Okinawa
Carthage invited guests to sign
the elaborately decorated
bride's book. The bridal
bouquet was placed at the base
of a candelabra holding blue
tapers Also on the small table
was a miniature tree holding
tiny bags of rice, which were
passed to the guests. Floor
length skirts of satin overlaid
wi;h multi-layers of pink tulle
covered each table which were
edged with greenery.
The elaborately decorated
wedding cake, featuring fresh
flowers, was served from a
small round table with large
tables on each side. Each table
held an arrangement of pink
gladioli, starburst mums, blue
agapanthus, pink and blue
carnations, asters, daisy poms
and gypsophilia in five branch
candelabra with blue tapers.
Punch was served from a
large silver bowl on one of the
tables wi.h the groo.ns double
ring chocolate cake and silver
coffee service on the other
table.
Members of the housepartv
were Misses Karen Hudson;
Dianne Chapman; Jenny Vin-
ing; Weida Hassell; LaJuan
Sales; Phyllis Case; Julie
Hall; Cheryl O'Neal; Celesta
Christopher; Cathy Gabbert;

For her wedding trip, Mrs.
Wallace wore a multi-colored
plaid suit with brown ac-
cessories Her flowers were
orchids.
After a brief wedding trip the
couple will be at home at Lake
Jacksonville Mrs Wallace
will be a student at Lon Morris.
Kenny is employed at Nan
Travis Hospital.
