SESCO Presents Employee's Awards at Christinas Party
Approximately one hundred
and seventy employees and
heir families of the Jackson-
ville division of the South-
western Electric Service Com-
pany attended the annual
Christmas party of the Com-
pany, Friday night. Dec. 14 at
Lon Morris College Scurlock
Center.
Fifteen employees of the
Jacksonville division of the
company received service
awards ranging from five to 35
years of service.
Receiving awards were: G.
D. Harrell. division superin-
tendent at Jacksonville. 35
years: Ethel Pledger, cashier
at Rusk. 30 years. James
Simmons, manager at Alto and
L. L. Morrison, station atten-
dent at Jacksonville, 24 years;
John Barton, assistant division
manager, Bethel Dawson,
secretary, Lorene Priddy,
cashier and Polly Page,
stenographer, all at Jackson-
ville, 15 years; Doyle Corley,
secretary and treasurer of the
company, Joe Musick, engi-
neering assistant. Judy Dixon,
cashier. Elizabeth Lowery,
cashier, all at Jacksonville,
Marie Merriwether. cashier at
Alto, and Dorothy Neal,
cashier at Frankston. 10 years
and Margie Waldron. cashier
at Arp. 5 years.

The annual Christmas party
for members of the Ernest
Workers Sunday School Class
«I First Methodist Church was
held Wednesday night, Dec. 12
in the home of Mrs. J. E
Wallace. Assisting with the
hostess duties were Mrs (J H
Thomas, Mrs H. B. Odom and
Mrs. Minton Moseley
The Wallace home was
attractively decorated in the
Christmas theme The front
door was adorned with a
beautiful wreath The other
two outside doors also featured'
Christmas decorations ihe
mantle held an arrangement of
gold and green leaturing the
three Wise Men The green
Christmas tree was decorated
with gold satin balls and red
birds
The refreshment table was
covered with a floor length red
sequinned net cloth over red
salin. The center floral
arrangement featured red
velvet roses in a silver wine
cooler. The buffet was
enchanced with an arrange
ment of green and gold and
silver candle holders holding
red burning tapers
As guests arrived they were
served hot spiced tea
Mrs. Mouzon Fletcher gave
the opening prayer
Mrs. Met/, heald presented a
Christmas story as part of the
program

hosted the employees of
Brookshire Brothers with a
dinner party Sunday night.

mas arrangements
Twenty five persons attend-
ed the dinner and the
employees received their
Christmas bonuses
Following the meal, those
present enjoyed playing
games.
Rusk Girls
Resume Play
January 3
The Rusk Girls Basketball
team will resume play after
the Christmas and New Year's
holidays on Jan. 3 when they
open District play here against
Malakoff.
The Eaglettes, coached by
Doug Jordan, have a season
record of 12 wins, two losses
going into District play.
On Jan. 7 the Eaglettes will
'host LaPoynor here and on
Jon. 10 will travel to Palestine
for • District tilt with
Wot wood.
Mrs Odom presided at the
silver service. Refreshments
served included finger sand-
wiches. cheese and coconut
balls, coconut cherry angel
food cake, coffee and tea.

inner you. Linda was the
speaker and showed members
the proper way to stand while
speaking and how to make the
voice hold attention

Watson were hostesses.

served.
A visit from Santa Claus
concluded the night's festivi-
ties.
Mr. Lester stated that
service awards were being
presented to employees of the
Mexia and Marlin divisions of
the company at similar
parties.
