Criminal Docket
Six cases were filed in
County Court last week.
Among them were Larry
James Johnson, a muffler
violation appealed from Jus-
tice court; Danny Hall, con-
tributing to the delinquency of
a minor; Parker McVicker,
speeding, appealed from JP
and David Edward Evans,
speeding, appealed from JP.
A judgment was entered on
Morris Clellan Brantley as-
sessing fine at S200. 30 day jail
sentence probated to six
months and court cost
An order was entered
dismissing the cause against

fourteen cases filed so far this
year. They included thirteen
divorce suits and one depend-
ent and neglected case.
Divorces
One divorce was granted last
week It was Marjorie R.
Jimerson and John C. Jimer-
son.
Sheriff's Office
Reports from Cherokee
County Sheriff John Bill
Slover's office indicate 21
arrests during last week.
They included three, revoca-
tion of probation, five, drunk;
one. defraud with worthless
check; one. theft, three,
daytime burglary , three, traf-
fic: three. DWI; one. contrib-
uting to delinquency of minor
and one. simple assault.
J us tice Of The Peace
Charges were brought
against eight persons last week
in Justice of the Peace Abner
Webb's office.
Among the charges were two
for speeding, both Fined $27.50;
one for nighttime burglary
with bond set at $1,500 and no
driver's license, carrying a
$22.50 fine; one, no muffler,
fined $22.50; one, theft over
$50; one, drunk, fined $41.50
and one, no motorcycle license,
fined $12.50.
One person was charged with
operating an unregistered
motor vehicle, no driver's
license and displaying fict-
icious license plates, with each
count carrying a 22.50 fine.
Rev. Holley Announces Topic
The Rev. L. Allen Holley,
pastor of the Rusk Presby-
terian Church will bring a
message entitled "Christ, the
Friend of Sinners" at the 11
a.m. hour of worship this
Sunday. The text will be taken
from Luke 7:34.
There will be a meeting of
the Presbytery of the Covenant
Jan. 29 in the St. Andrews
Presbyterian Church in
Denton. Registration will
begin at 9 a .m. and the meeting
at 10.
The Session will meet
between Sunday school and
church to elect a representa-
tive to Presbytery.

Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Kyi*, Mr.
and Mrs. Herschel Kyle and
Mannie Woodard attended the
Woodard family reunion at
Arcadia, Louisiana Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Moses
were guests of his sister Mrs.
Sally Stringer at Nacogdoches
Friday night.
