Chapter No. 79, Order of the
F.astern Star.
Officers installed were Nell
Abernathy, Worthy Matron;
Kulis Davis, Worthy Patron;
Frankie Hugghins, Associate
Matron; Calvin Hugghins,
Associate Patron; Lucille
seale, secretary; Ida Fisher,
treasurer; Evileen Keels,
Conductress; Beth Mann,
\ssociate Conductress.
Also. Maudie Musick, Chap-
plain; Mary Goff, Marshall;
Zelda Quimby, Organist;
Martha Sanders, Ada; Gayle
DeFoor, Ruth; Varine
Sanders, Ester; Mary Jane
DeFoor, Martha; Valdese
Kutherford, Electra and E. L.
DeFoor, Sentinel.
Angie Johnston was install-
ing officer. Other officers for
the installation were Mattie
Davis, marshall; Pauline
Powers, chaplain; Helen
Treadwell, organist and Mary
Monroe, secretary pro-tem.
Also on the installation
program were Peggy Lofton,
presentation of Holy Bible;
Sidney Abernathy, presenta-
tion of Square and ComDasses:
E. B. Davis, call to order;
Frankie Hugghins, opening of
Holy Bible; Edith Kinsel,
welcome and introduction of
distinguished guests and the
National Anthem led by E. L.
DeFoor.
Following the installation
ceremony the proclamation
was given by Mattie Davis and
Evileen Keels conducted the
closing of the Holy Bible.
Greetings were given by the
newly installed Worthy Matron
and Worthy Patron. Otto
Kinsel made the presentation
of the Past Matron's Jewel and
Oma Holcomb made the
presentation of the Past
Patron's Jewel.
Benediction was given by
Tom Conway.
Following the program
refreshments were served by
Dolly Lofton. Virginia
Abernathy and Jo Ann
Abernathy.
INSTALL OFFICERS--Rusk Chapter of the Order of the
Eastern Star installed officers in an impressive ceremony
Saturday night at the lodge on North Main Street. Mrs. Neil
Abernathy, front, fourth from left, was installed as Worthy-
Matron and Eulis Davis, front, third from left was installed as

Hendrick Reunion Scheduled
The annual Hendrick Re-
union is slated Saturday, June
8 at the Campground Baptist
Church in Alto.
It will begin at 3 p.m and a
picnic supper will be served at
6:30 p.m.
The Rev. Kermit Welch of
Houston will bring the message
at the night service. Everyone
is invited to attend.
