Clean Power
Natural gas, one of the clean-
est of fuels, is rapidly becoming
a source of power for the gen-
eration of electricity and vehi-
cular propulsion. To provide the
power, gas turbine engines util-
izing high-nickel alloys in the
combustion chamber and turbine
wheels are connected to genera-
tors or the vehicles’ wheels.

LEARN ABOUT TAXES
An average Texan may do a
bit of bragging on quite a few of
the finer things that we enjoy
around these parts, but most of
them would aamt that they
need a little more learning when
it comes to addin’ and sub-
tractin' and figurin’ income tax
returns. Internal Revenue’s
Dallas District sings praises of
the Texas schools and the
teachers that give about 200,000
students some of the fun-
damentals of how to prepan1 a
basic Form 1040 income tax
return. IRS is also proud of the
more than 150 adult education
sessions that were held to help
several thousand adults.
However, the good tax folks
have to admit that income tax
learning just doesn't come easy
for most of us. We can only hope
that our school teachers and the
tax folksand a lot of others keep
up the good work because- let ’s
face it—most of us need to know
a lot more about our personal
income tax business.

Austin—Colonel Wilson E.
Speir, director of the Texas
Department of Public Safety,
said today that effective Sep-

identification card.
The card, which was
authorized by the 62nd Texas
Legislature, is laminated and

the holder. It is the same size as
a Texas drivers license.
Information appearing on the
card will include the holder’s
date of birth, height, sex and
eye color. Each card will have a
special identification number
issued by the DPS.
Speir said the cards should be
of value to those persons who do
not hold a Texas drivers
license. but who need some son
of official card to help establish
their identity.
In order to obtain a personal
identification card, the ap-
plicant must appear at a DPS
drivers license field office on or
