Norman, has been promoted
to the rank of Specialist 4. He
is with the Direct Support
Detachment, Headquarters
PVI Jewel M. Khan, sis-
ter of Mrs. H. B. Tyler, was
in Canton to visit her family
while on a seven-day leave.
She is presently stationed at
Fort Jackson, South Carolina.
Miss Khan entered the Army
on Monday, February 4,
signing up for three years.
Her basic training was
acquired at Fort Jackson. She
will go on to Virginia for her
military schooling to become
a helicopter mechanic. She
plans to serve eighteen
months in Germany.
Miss Kahn is the daughter
of Mrs. J. M. Ferguson.

The couple was married
May 10, 1924 by Justice of the
Peace John Burns in the home
of Mrs. Hobb‘ parents. She is
the former Jesse Lorena
Large.
Mr. and Mrs. Hobbs lived in
Kansas for six months after
they were married and
returned to Ben Wheeler,
where they have resided since
then.
They have three children,
nine grandchildren, and five
great-grandchildren.

Rhodes officiating. Interment
was held in the Welch
Cemetery in Rusk County.
Mrs. Jones died Wednesday
at Henderson Memorial
Hospital after a long illness.
Mrs. Jones, 68, of
Henderson, was a native and
lifelong resident of Rusk
County. She was a member of
the Zion Hill Baptist Church.

College. He received his basic

Huntsville, Alabama.
He is married to the former
Rosalind Starr of Van. She is
living in Tyler and is enrolled
in a radiology technician
program at Mother Frances
Hospital and Tyler Jr.
College.
Norman has been stationed
in Korea since July of last
year and will have served his
time there in July of this year.
