ready for a snack When their
hunger strikes, don't panic Snacks
are a perfect way to give them a lit-
tle extra nutrition Fresh fruits,
celery, carrot sticks, and cheeae are
just a few ideas for some good
nutritious snacks These don't take
much more time to prepare than
other types of snacks and they're
much better for children
Other good Ideas for nutritious
snacks are popcorn, dairy products,
small sandwiches, and any of the
variety of crackers, muffins and
breads

Governor
announces
appointment
Governor Bill Clements has ap-
pointed Mrs. Lila Lee Rehkop of
Athens to the board of directors of
the Angelina and Neches River
Authority.
Mrs. Rehkop succeeds Chester H.
Moore of Lufkin, whose term on the
board has expired.
"We are pleased to have Mrs.
Rehkop on the ANRA board," said
chairman Steve Lilly of
Nacogdoches. "For 30 years. Lila
and her husband Wit' •-a v• vorked
side by side for .n. ■ ■ , groun-
dwater development in La >t Texas,
and recently spent two years in
Guatemala, Central America,
helping to develop that country's
water supplies."
Mrs. Rehkop and her husband
operate an Athens drilling company
Mr. Rehkop served on the Texas
Water Well Drillers Board for six
years.
Mrs Rehkop, whose term on the
ANRA board will expire in 1969. has
been active in the Athens Chamber
of Commerce, the Boy Scuts, and
the Girl Scouts.
The Angelina and Neches River
Authority, with headquarters at
Lufkin, has jurisdiction over water
planning and development for a
broad section of East Texas,
reaching from Athens to Orange
The Authority is currently plan-
ning a new 10,000-acre lake in
Cherokee and Smith counties to be
known as Lake Eastex.

Henderson
Development of airports in
Cherokee. Panola, and Rusk coun-
ties will be discussed The meeting
will be conducted by the Texas
Aeronautics Commission
All area citizens with an interest in
air transportation and airport
development are invited to attend.
Participating in the meeting will be
city and county elected officials,
airport board members, airport
managers, representatives of the
East Texas Council of Governmen-
ts. and other citizens
During the meeting, the airport
development needs currently iden-
tified in the Texas Aeronautical

Facilities Plan (TAFP> for area
airports will be review co Preser-
vation and development of airport
facilities in the area will be covered.
The availability of state and federal
funds for airport development will
be discussed. Information on area
economic development, community
goals and objectives, and other fac-
tors that may influence the need for,
or timing of, airport development
will be requested.
The TAFP has been developed for
Texss and the Federal Aviation
Administration by the Texas
Aeronautics Commission. The Plan
wss first published in 1974. The
latest Plan revision w as published in
August, 1984. Completion of this
TAFP revision is scheduled for mid-
1988.
