Lufkin Banking Center to host Ramses II
Through special arrangements
with the Dallas Museum of Natural
History Association, NCNB Texas'
Lufkin Banking Center is bringing a
special exhibition featuring Ram-
ses II, Pharaoh of Egypt, to East
Texas.
The exhibition will be on display
at NCNB Texas, Lufkin Banking
Center, in the lobby through
Friday, March 24. The bank is
located at 415 South First Street.
Viewing hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
daily.
The exhibit, "The Inner San-
ctuary : APhotgraphic Essay on the
Rammesseum Mortuary Temple of
Ramses II", presents the viewer
with both an aesthetic and
historical documentaion of an
Egyptian architectural wonder.
Featured in the display are both
reproductive photographs, some
enlarged and cut out to give the
viewer a sense of realism, and
reproductive artifacts which in-
cludes examples of objects placed
within a temple or tomb.
Ramses the Great was probably
the wealthiest and most powerful
pharaoh ever to rule Egypt. And
because of the almost twenty years
he spent preparing his burial tomb,
Ramses left a priceless legacy
richly depicting life in the Golden
Age of Egypt, some 3000 years ago.
Gene Guice, an East Texan with
the Ramses Outreach Speakers
Bureau, will be in the bank lobby on
Thursday, March 23, from 3 to 5
p.m. Mr. Guice will be available for
informal discussions during those
hours.
Both the exhibition and the ap-
pearance of Mr. Guice are open to
the public.
