Into a medium-sized mtxmgbowl
sift together the flour, baking pow-
der, salt and brown sugar. Stir in
rye flour and caraway. In a small
mixing bowl beat egg enough to
blend yolk and white: add milk
and beat enough to combine. Add
to flour mixture with melted but-
tet; stir only until dry ingredients
are thoroughly moistened. Turn in-
to buttered loaf pan (9 by 5 by 3
inches). Bake is a moderate (350
degrees) oven 1 hour or until cake
tester inserted in center comes out
clean. Loosen bread from sides at
pan with spatula; turn out on wire
