Mrs. Ben Wester was reported
real sick Saturday but is much
better at present time which is
good news for her many friends.
Tuesday of last week Mrs.
Mario Messina and two small
daughters of Dallas visited with
Mrs. Messina’s parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Frank O’Brien.
Mrs. Elmer Wray of McKin-
ney visited with Mr. and Mrs.
Frank O’Brien Tuesday after-
noon. Mr. and Mrs. Wray were
formerly of this community.
Mr. and Mrs. Van Plumlee of
Dallas were Wednesday evening
supper guests of the latter’s par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank
O’Brien.
Mrs. Gene Hendrix of McKin-
ney spent the week end with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence
Rawlings, and Bobby.
Mrs. Clarence Rawlings at-
tended the Red Cross night
school in Celina last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Rawl-
ings visited their little nephew,
baby of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Lof-
tice of Celina, Saturday in the
Wysong Hospital. He had surg-
ery Saturday and is reported to
be doing nicely.
Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene
O’Brien and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd
Copeland and son, Dennis, all of
Dallas, visited their parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Frank O’Brien.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Rawl-
ings and son, Bobby, visited Mr.
and Mrs. Billy LaGrone of Al-
len Friday evening and attended
the Allen-Celina ball game.
Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Jinks
noon. Her body was laid to rest
in the cemetery here at Verona,
her former home. We extend
sympathy to the bereaved fami-
ly.
The annual chicken roast will
be held at the Methodist Church
Saturday night, Oct. 12. Proceeds
will be used to finish and furn-
ish the new educational build-
ing. Everyone is invited to at-
tend.
Mrs. Doris Murphy is at home
following surgery at Collin Me-
morial Hospital.

ra Samples were Mrs. Kenny
Dowell of Farmersville and her

have been on the sick list.

Mrs. Brown of Westminster vis-
ited Mrs. LeRoy Tilley one aft-
ernoon recently.

Friday night Paul Marion re-
ceived a severe knee injury and
Bobby Curtis received an in-
jured hand.
The place of business of Jno.
D. Holt was broken into Wednes-
day night and spark plugs and
batteries and other things taken.
The burglars were apprehended
and most of the goods returned.
The family of Mrs. G. W. Port-

Merchant Marine C. V. Sum-
mers of California is spending
his leave with his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Luther Summers. Mrs.
Summers was moved from Col-
lin Memorial Hospital last week
and is doing nicely at her home
west of Allen.
Good to see L. O. Bolin able
to be out after a very severe ill-
ness.
