What's Wrong?
THE egations of crime i-ak-
stermg bribery, political fav
itism, and the curt dismissal of
Commander-In-Chief who had w
confidence of the American People
a whole make one wonder what
all about.
Maybe there is some good reasv
for the appeasement of Russia (I h.
not) which the rank and file of us d,
not know and should not be tol:
because it would betray our plans to
our enemies. But I don't believe any
General is going to be able to hold
a bunch of American Soldiers in the
right frame of mind by asking them
to sit still and not fight when they
know that the enemy is massing
troops, bringing up reinforcements to
far outnumber them; who, when they
charge, will come on without regard
to life; because they are virtually
slaves of an Iron Ruler.
Our boys have been driven back,
they know what bloody fighting is.
They are ready to fight again, but at
least they want a chance to fight.
When a competitor told me one day
in conversation at a dinner meeting,
with a grin on his face, that he was
going to do his best to get my business
away from me, and then told my
bankers I didn't have a chance, do
you think I tried not to step on his
toes and appease him? No Sir, right
there is where the fight began, and
I'm now right back to his 38th paral
lel, and I'm not stopping here if I can
help it. I'll do my best to love ms
Enemies; I'll take a lot from them to
avoid a fight, which I did in the above
case; but if fight I must, it won't b
a half-way fight.
But the sumn and substance of it Il
is that the world is getting no better
fast, and we need a revival of old
time religion, the kind where a man
has a teal change of heart; not simply
the making of a new year's resoultion
or the signing of a pledge, but a con-
fession of sin and a faith in his heart
that the God who had power enough
to create a world has power enough
to forgive our sins because He died
to save us. He and He only can help
us. None of us is perfect, but God
can and will help us to do better if
we humbly seek His face, and ask
His blessing upon our Nation.-
