on the Hill with the Rev. Jan
Pate officiating. Burial was in
Cedar Hill Cemetery under the
direction of Wallace-Thompson

aged the Rusk Pine Meadow
Apartments for another lOyears
followed by an equal time at the
Department ofHuman Services
until her retirement in 2002.
Also as a volunteer, she was
elected and served as president
of the local HUD organization
for several years. She was the
fir st woman to serve on the Rusk
Independent School District
Board. She was a member of the
First Church on the Hill. Along
with her late husband, Lewis
Banks, she was a strong sup-
porter in local pohtics, attend-
ing and participating in the
Democratic Conventionfor many
years. She has always been
"aroun d the courthouse" helping
to count votes, or just keeping
up with the political races "first
hand." Preceding her in death
were her husband, Lewis Banks;
her father and mother, Charles
W. andEwing Marshall; andtwo
brothers, CharlesR. andJohnny
Marshall.
She is survived by her three
children and their spouses, Bob
and Martha Banks of Richard-
