send people for safety, where they can be housed if
they come from out of town, where food is available,
where bedding and clothing can be obtained. It has
been most fortunate that hurricanes are not frequent
in this area, but they have occurred. An organized
program of what to do when by whom would assure a
feeling of security and protection when and if such a
time should arise.
Every family ought to know what to do in case of
a storm and every individual ought to know his
mission and special area of protection, where food
supplies can be stored, and where the safety spots
can be reached in a home.
Perhaps this area is too sure that nothing so
drastic can happen. Hopefully it won’t, but it is good to
be prepared.
