Our residents at the nursing home have won-
dered where April went and why May is getting
on so fast. Some thought they had lost a week
because Stephen was their pastor on the first
Sunday instead of Rusty. Think we have it all

have returned to their homes. We miss them,
but know they are happy to be home again.

of their loved one. Our prayers and thoughts
are with them.
We are looking forward to our week-end.
The nursing home will have a booth at the fair
and will want our friends to come by and see
the crafts that have been made by the residents.
All sales will be given to the Fire Dept, as our
donation of appreciation.

“Mother” on their special day can find some
lovely ladies at the Grandview Nursing Home,
and they would love it.

session with Mayor McDuff & Councilpersons
Johnston; Wigin ton; Carroll; Moore; and Enmon
Moran. (City Secy, absent - death in family)

Member, Enmon Moran, and re-elected members
Carroll and Johnston.
2. Larry Moore motioned to approve election
results, as given to city by Judge Helen Berrier,
second by James Wiginton-all yeas, motion
passed.
3. Mayor McDuff called the meeting to order

event the athletes en-
tered, plus they were
given a Special Olympic
T-Shirt and a compli-
mentary lunch.

Rio Vista Campus.

previous meeting (City Secy, absent-illness in
family) and James Wigin ton motioned to ap-
prove, second by Larry Moore-all yeas, motion
approved. ••
2. Linda Johnston motioned to approve
original garbage contract-no amendment for
“normal amount” - second by Larry Moore-all
yeas, motion passed.
3. Jiminy Carroll motioned to approve a
Resolution for Certificates of Obligation, second
by James Wiginton-all yeas, motion passed.
4. Mayor McDuff made a request to Council
to have area in front of city hall restricted for
parking (15 min.), and yellow stripe painted and
a sign to this restriction placed in the area-

5. Jimmy Carroll motioned to pay city bills,
second by Larry Moore-all yeas, approved.
6. Being no further business, Johnston mo-

quet has been set for
Thursday, May 17 in
the School Cafetorium
at 7:30 p.m. The pur-
pose of the banquet is
to honor our high
school athletes for
their rhievements
during the 1983-84
school year.
The community is
invited and encouraged
to attend to show your
appreciation for these
young athletes.
This year’s banquet
will be catered by
Leach Bros. Bar-B-
from Cleburne. Res-
. ervations must be made
no later than May 9
by purchasing tickets
at the High School or
Jr. High Office. Price
of admission is $6.00

The time for Special
Olympics is rapidly ap-
< proaching and this is
extremely exciting
news for several people
in Johnson County.
The reason for more
excitement than usual
this year is that many
handicapped young
people will have an
opportunity to parti-
cipate in more than
just a Local Special
Olympic Meet. Some
fifty area young people
traveled to For Worths
Birdville Complex to
attend the Regional
Special Olympic Track
& Field Meet. Some
1200 handicapped stu-
dents from around Re-
gion XI participated.
The day was geared
toward helping these
special folks feel like
real winners. Ribbons
