ATLANTIC CITY, N 3., Ott. 16.
—()—Joseph P Ryan, president of
the International Longshoremen's
Union, said today that the union
would be in a position to refuse to
handle "unfair" cargo all along the
Atlantic and gulf coasts after Nov.
1. •
Contracts with coastwise shippers
expired at that time, Ryan said.
New contracts would not be sign-
ed. he said, so that the union could
refuse to handle “hot" cargo from
New Orleans where a strike is in
progress.
Ryan expressed hope, however,
that the New Orleans strike would
be settled before then. A labor re-
lations board investigator was work-
ing on the case, he added.
A Denton man and his dates-
ville companion were brought to
the Denton Hospital Tuesday night
for emergency treatment or in-
juries suffered when their car was • j
sideswipea and overturned north
of Denton on the Aubrey Higaway
about 8:30 o'clock.
Don Mize of Dentoa sustained
several broken ribs, an examination
revealed. Dee Richardson. Gaines-
ville man, had a Broken shoulder.
Both'were resting fainly easily in
the hospital Wednesday.
Deputy Sherims John Conaway
and E. B. Floyd and City Officer
Roy Moore went to the scene of the
accident, the concrete slab at the
Elm Creek bridge, and investigated,.
The car that struck the Mize' ma-
chine did not stop, apectators of the
crash said, but continued on us
way north. The impact of the col-
lision threw Mize's car into the
ditch and overturned it several
times. The vehicle was badly smash-
ed.
Condemnation proceedings

when a hearing is held in the
County Court room.
The proceedings are on land own-
ed by Fred Freeman and Mrs Rosa
Corbin.
The board named by County Judge
George Elbert to set a valuation on
