Twenty-two visiting faculty mem-
bers will supplement the summer
school faculty at 8 C. W. this year,
and two speclalists will give a se-
nes of lectures at the college some
time during the summer months,
President L. H. Hubbard has an-
nounced.
The summer session which opens
June 9 will be divided into two
terms as has been customary, the
first closing July 16, and the sec-
ond term opening July 19 and clos-
ing Aug. 27. No estimate could be
made by officials as to the number
of students to attend the college
this summer.
A feature of the summer session
.will be a homemaking conference
sponsored by the college which will
be offered from June 20 through 30.
This institute was Held last shm-
mer, and, according to those in
charge, proved very successful. The
aims of the institute are to pro-
vide a series of related experiences
for homemakers in the develop-
ment of a broad conception of edu-
cation for family life including both
the technical and relationship as-
pects, Miss Clara Tucker, super-
visor of the matitute and chairman
of the committee on problems of
home and famity life, said.
These experiences are to. be di-
rected toward an understanding of
the relationship of family educa-
tion in the total scheme of educa-
tion ahd community life; toward the
development of an uhderstand-
ing of the meaning of family educa-
tion for children, youth and adults,
Miss Tucker said. •

The family council, which is a
part of the program, affords an op-
portunity for homemakers to dis-
cuss, individually, the needs of the
family Demonstrations are being
planned for practical means of car-
rying out recommendations in the

ily, food, family expenditures, hous-
ing, preschool and adolescent chil-
dren problems, recreation, relation-
ship problems and proper develop-
ment of religious attitudes and

All housewives and others inter-
ested in such an Institute are in-
vited to attend. Provisions can be
made for mothers and children to
live in college residence halls and
eat at the college cafeteria if they
choose. Recreation periods are In-
cluded in the schedule of activities,
and provisions are made for the
homemakers to attend entertain-
ment features and special lectures
provided by the college. Mrs. Quig-
ley Wood, of the Union High School
staff. Phoenix, Arik., will be on the
campus a'week giving special lec-
tures at this institute Mrs. Leia
Tomlinson, of the department of

ana will be presented for three days
