—One of the best fields in the 29-
year history of the Drake Relays,
its pride gorged .with four new
marks and a tie for a fifth, went
to its marks today in search of more
time and distance conquests.
Major attention was concentrated
•on tow-headed Fred Wolcott, the
Rice Institute busy-body who mid-
dle Western track and field fans
expected to frack wide-open the
'Drake record of 14 4 for the 120-
yard high hurdles.
Wolcott, the sophomore sensation
of the Rice squad equaled the rec-
ord with a nonchalant performance
in yesterday’s preliminaries. Today,
with the chips down in the final,
the Rice flyer was due for a record-
smashing performance.
