Prior to Tuesday noon, only
one candidate had filed for the
City of Sealy election to be held
on Saturday, April 3. Mayor Jim
Walters filed for re-election
Tuesday, January 21, making a
bid for the position he has held
since 1976.
Logan Hohle, formerly of
Midland, now residing in Sealy,
does the embryo transfer from a
donor cow to a recipient at the
clinic facility. Trained by Dr. R.
Corbett in Midland, he has been
involved in this type of work the
past five years. He said he did
nearly 200 transfers here the first
month. The process takes about
two hours to collect the embryo
from a cow and an hour to make
the transfer. This increases the
genetic potential of a herd, Hohle
stated.

On February 2, liability
insurance for county officials and
employees is being cancelled by
the underwriter. James Donnelly
and Elroy Kiecke, county
insurance representatives, met
with commissioners to discuss the
replacement of this insurance.
"Only three or four companies in
the nation are writing this kind of
insurance because companies are
backing off due to unreasonable
settlements!' said Donnelly.
Kiecke believes contigency fees
earned by trial attorneys (where
the fee is based on the size of the
