MARSALIS
In seven years, Wynton Marsalis
has attained world-class stature as
musician, statesman, and eloquent
spokesman. Wynton has earned 8
Grammy Awards since 1983 and
was the first artist of all time to win
Jazz Grammys in five consecutive
years. The critically acclaimed
Wynton Marsalis makes a rare club
appearence.

THE ATLANTA
RHYTHM SECTION
The original instrumental-based
quintet earned their name by
backing Roy Orbison in 1970 and
then went on to back hundreds of
recording artists from Allen
Toussaint to Kris Kristofferson.
Expect to hear classics like "So Into
You", "Ima nary Lover", and "Pm
Not Gonna Let It Bother Me
Tonight". Check out these veterans
of the road and session work.

JERRY
"COUNTJACKSON"
LaCROIX
After Jerry LaCroix returned to the
Golden Triangle in 1987, He put
together The New Boogie Revival
Band, which plavs great dance
music from Tina Turner to Huey
Lewis. He was also lead vocalist for
Blood, Sweat, & Tears and Rare
Earth, as well as recording with
Edgar Winter's White Trash.
SEPT. 3 FOGIIAT
Foghat's hit singles include "Slow
Ride" which spent 12 weeks in the
Billboard Top 10 and "Third Time
Lucky" which charted the Top 10
for 10 weeks. Originally the core of
Savoy Brown, Foghat formed in
1970 and has released 13 albums
that have cranked-out many hits
including "Fool For The City", and
"I Just Wanna Make Love To You".
SEPT. 6 MICHAEL
BRECKER
The "Brecker Sound", the critically
acclaimed beauty of this tenor
saxophonist, has been a major force
in jazz and rock music. The
"Brecker Sound" has been heard
with artists ranging from Bruce
Springsteen to John Lennon andFrank Sinatra as well as Steely
Dan, Parliament/Funkadelic, and
Dire Straits. Touring with Brecker
will be his working band that
includes the likes of Mike Stern,
Jeff Andrews, Joey Calderazzo, and
Adam Nussbaum. Brecker's other
credits include co-leader of the jazz
band Steps Ahead and pioneer of
the AkaiEWI (Electronic Wind
Instrument).

TIE DESERT
ROSE BAND 0
MARY CHAPIN
CARPENTER
It's hard to imagine six more
talented musicians together in one
band. They are Chris Hillman,
founding member of both The
Byrds and The Flying Burrito
Brothers, Herb Pedersen, who has
worked with Kenny Rogers, James
Taylor, and Linda Ronstadt, and
four more well-respected musicians
with impressive credentials. All this
together makes The Desert Rose
Band one of the Nation's top
country-rock bands. Cheek out the

artist, Mary Chapin Carpenter,
touring on the strength of her hit

Rusty Wier, a native of Austin, has
been playing his brand of country
music long before country was cool.
"Don't It Make You Wanna
Dance", from the Urban Cowboy
soundtrack, earned Rusty a
platinum record. Don't miss the
good ol' boy, Rusty Wier, one of the
true "Cosmic Cowboys", back to
play for the honky-tonk faithful.

Touring on his second Geffen
Record release, The Man With The
Blue, Post-Modern, Fragmented,

Moore has been gathering rave

Stevie Ray Vaughan have been
sitting in with him. No one in the
band is over 20 years old, but that
doesn't stop them from drawing on
such diverse musical influences as
Otis Rush, Jimi Hendrix, The
Neville Brothers, and Stephane
Grapelli.

KIRK WHALUM
Columbia Records third album for
Mr. Whalum showcases the Texas
Tenor with the big sound remines-
cent of the late Arnett Cobb and the
soulful tenor souns of the 40's and
50's. Kirk is getting used to sitting
on the top of Billboard's Jazz
Charts and it has everything to do
with his sax appeal.

TIHE SKY
A great big western howdy from
some of the most fresh, exciting and
entertaining music around. This
acoustic trio plays and sings
