cast for the two candidates receiving the highest
number of votes.

nor of Texas, by virtue of the authority vested
in me by the constitution and laws of this State,
do hereby direct that an election tie held. com-
mencing on Wednesday, the 2d day of April. A.
D„ 1873, and continue for four consecutive days,
