Fifty years ago the taffow dip furnished most of the
illumination, with kerosene lamps representing the latest
and best illuminating methods. Some of the cities had a
manufactured gas, but it was not popular. Just about that
time electric lights made their appearance..

by mail or called in person. Railroads were poorly
