—I almost forgot my letter, I got
so busy planting flowers. Its such
a pretty day I couldn’t stay in-
doors. .Sure hope we have several
pretty days; farmers are planting
corn and melons.

and children all spent Sunday
week with Mr. and Mrs. Jim Tur-
ner.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Carter,
Elgin, spent last Friday night with
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hamp
Carter.
Mrs. Martha Parker spent last
Thursday with Mrs. B. M. Briggs.
Mrs. Briggs and children were
sick with flu. We hope they are
much better by now.

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Parker visit-
ed last Friday in the O. P. Parker
home and Mr. and Mrs. David
Parker visited there last Wednes-
day.
Miss Bobbie Jean Parker was
sick last week with flu but we’re
glad to report her feeling much
better.
Mr. and Mrs. Odell Morgan and
children visited with Mr. and Mrs.
H. A. Hobbs and sons last Thurs-
day night at Elm Grove.
Mr. and Mrs Hamp Carter spent
the week-end in Elgin with their
children, Mr. and Mrs. Edward
Carter . Others visiting them that
day were Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Erd-
man, of Type.
Mr. and Mrs. Ewell Turner and
children spent last Sunday with
Mr. and Mrs. Adell Morgan.
Mrs. Bessie Hobbs spent last
Wednesday with her daughter,
Mrs. Theo Smith.
Friday evening visitors in the
W. H. Gage home were Mrs. Hamp
Carter and Mr. and Mrs. Anton
Erdman.
Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Bostic and
son visited Mr. and Mrs. Hamp
Carter last Thursday.
Visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Theo
Smith last Sunday week were Mr.
and Mrs. Elmer Hobbs and baby

children of Dallas were week-end
guests of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Kneip.
Miss Frances Pfluger of Aus-
tin visited here over the week-end.
Mrs. R. C. Langley and Donna
Lynn returned Thursday from a
visit in Houston.
Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Ging and
Miss Evelyn Ging, of Austin were
week-end guests of their parents,
Mr. and Mrs. S. R. Ging.
Mr. and Mrs . Lyle Smith and
Mary of Austin visited relatives
here Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. H. Hunziker of
Seattle, Washington arrived to-
day, Monday for a visit with their
parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. Hun-
ziker, and sisters, Mrs, Alfred Al-
bers, and Mrs. Theo Krueger of
Smithville, the latter a patient in
a Temple hospital at present.
Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Marosko
were Austin visitors this morning,
Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Dagerath
and children visited relatives in
Giddings Sunday.
Rev. R. Mohr was in Austin Fri-
day afternoon where he held fun-
eral services for Mrs. Louise
Hodde of Richland.
Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Pfluger and
Nancy visited relatives in Ganado
Sunday.
Mrs. E. J. Speckels and Mrs.
Erwin Polzin were Austin visitors
Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Pfluger of
New Branufels, Mr. and Mrs. A.
W. Speckels of Austin were Sun-
day guests of Mrs. F. Polzin.
Rev. and Mrs. R. Mohr were vis-
itors in Burton Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Arbie Cornell and
Mrs. H. J. Dagerath were Austin
visitors Tuesday.

MANOR NEWS

MANOR, March 25—Mrs. Fritz
Nauert of Austin spent Wednes-
day with Mrs. Eders.
Miss Mary Frances Clark is
visiting with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Slim Clark.
Mr. Sudburg is at home and
not very strong. Mr. Sudburg is
employed at Camp Mabry.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Frietag
and daughter were in a car acci-
dent Sunday while enroute to
visit some friends in Sprinkle. A
car going toward Dessau ran into
the Frietag car. Mrs. Frietag is
still at the hospital suffering from
bruises and scratches. Mr. Frie-
tag was • released Monday after-
being treated for a broken ankle.
Mr. J. A. Sundberg is spending
his 10th week at the hospital. He
is doing very well, and is anxious
to get home, but hasn’t gotten
any tip toward that way yet.
Little John Marshall is home
from school with the flu.
Many friends attended examin-
ation in Pflugerville Sunday. Palm
Sunday confirmation will be held.
Mrs. C. C. Kuempel, mother of
Mesdames Sundberg, Acklin, and
Nelle is doing nicely at Seton hos-
pital.
Mrs. Dorothy Chaffey, of Aus-
tin is visiting at the Georgia Nelle

lund at the Stromberg hospital in
Taylor last Wednesday after-
noon. Mrs. Eklund is some better
at this time.
Miss Kathleen Eklund spent the
week-end at home with her daddy.
Mr. K. H. Eklund, who has been
sick with the flu, is better at this
time.
Mrs. Waif red Morell and Hilde-
gard spent Sunday afternoon with
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Burke and
family.
Mr. and Mrs. August Swenson
had as their dinner guests last
Sunday, Mrs. C. Benson and
daughter, Mrs. Carl Anderson,
from Chicago, Ill, and Mr. and
Mrs. Weldon Swenson and family,
Mr. and Mrs. Edmond Swenson
and Miss Ida Anderson from
Austin.
Miss Joanna Karling, Mary Lou
and Pauline Johnson spent the
week-end at home.
Mrs. C. J. Nauert and son, Al-
bert, spent last Sunday in Austin
with her daughters.
