House of Repreeentatives of the same, to meet in
wenalon at the capitol, in the eity of Auntin, on
Tuenday, the twenty eixth day of April, A. D.
1670, then and there to inaugurate the regular
State Government, and to enter upon Much gen-
erai and epecinl Weginlation aq may be in compli-
ance with the apirit and letter of the Conatitution
recently adopted by the people of Texas, and in
the judgment of said Senate and Houne of Repre-
sentatives, advinable for the peace and welfare of
the people of Texna.
In teetimony whereof, I hare hereunto

seal of the State to be amxed at the city

tiful banner of blue and white silk, embroid-
ered in gold thread, with the motto of the com-
pany on one aide, and “ Presented by the
ladies of Austin, April 21, 1870," on the
other, was presented by Mise Jennie Turner,
on behalf of the ladies, to Washington Na-
gine Company, No. 4, with a short and ex-
Hnen checks, linen dark, handkerehiefs, gloven,
and boeiery.
The procemsion, after the speaking had con-
cluded, proceeded down the Avenue, was ad-
dressed by the Mayor, and finally repaired to
the engine house, to partake of a generous
supply of refreshments, bountifully furnished
by his Honor, the Mayor, and the Chief elect.
