H 1GH in the dome of the Capitol in Washington,
D. C., there is a quiet little room visitors seldom see.
It is a private chapel for the members of Congress.
They are at liberty to go there to seek strength and
guidance in their problems and tasks as leaders and
lawmakers.
Since the chapel was opened in 1955, hardly a day
has passed without some member of Congress going
there to read a passage of scripture, to pray, and gain
inspiration.
All of us have the opportunity of spending some time
each day communing with God about our problems,
our doubts, our fears, asking for wisdom in making
decisions, and for strength and courage to carry out
God’s will. What a powerhouse for ourselves and others
moments of meditation and prayer prove to be!
PR A YER: Our Father, help us each day to talk to Thee
and to learn to lean upon Thine unfailing wisdom. May
thia holy time of communion with Thee bring peace to
our often troubled hearts. We pray in Christ’s name.
Amen.
