The Wildcat Hoop
Camp is one of the best
fundamental camps in
the area.
The camp is an intro-
duction to everything we
do in the Elgin Wildcat
basketball program and
has been attended by
some of the best players
in the Wildcat program.
This camp is a great in-
vestment for anyone seri-
son.
Incoming 9th graders
will be July 29-Aug 1, from
9:00 a.m. until noon. Cost
is $50.
All checks can be made
to Elgin volleyball.
Volleyball tryouts are
August 5-7. You must have
a current physical in order
to try out if you are an in-
coming 9th grader or 11th

Wildcat football is back
in play.
The team started Spring
practice on April 29, and
will wrap up their five
weeks of training after
the Spring Game on May
30.
The Cats will have some
holes to fill on the offen-
sive line with the gradua-
tion of Clayton Anderson,
Jacob Shanks, Trey Nash
and Troy Nash.
The team has many
skilled players returning
in the fall, among those
are: Te’Rel Simmons,
Da’Trean Simmons, Kyle
Snell and Colin Snell.
“Focusing on the funda-
mentals is the goal of
spring practice,” said
Head Coach Wade Griffin.
A few players to watch on
offense next season who
may take the Cats to the
next level are: Tyler
Wooten, Josh Ficklin,
Chris Rogers, and Ty Nor-
ton. Coach Griffin is also
expecting a strong per-
formance from De’Kovin
Vincent and Fentrese Mil-
ligan on defense.
Looking forward to the
upcoming football season,
Coach Griffin mentioned;
“You have to reinvent
yourself every year.”
After a successful run in
the playoffs in the 2012
season, the possibilities
for 2013 will be some-
thing to look forward to.
To preview the talent
and team in the making,
Wildcat fans are welcome
