The Wildcats would see a
bevy of reserves and
younger players log signifi-
cant time in the second
half. The younger Cats
maintained the dominance
over the Patriot reserves,
and purple once again
'reigned' over Wildcat Sta-
dium.
The high-flying Cats will
have to quickly re-focus as
they will face Bastrop on
Thursday night. Aside from
trying to retain Bastrop
County supremacy, the
Cats will try to clinch a
share of the District Cham-
pionship.
The adversaries from the
south will provide a worthy
challenge and a great game
is expected. The Cats now
stand at 8-0 on the season
and more importantly 5-0
in district 17-4A.

Home Sweet Home. Once
again, Wildcat Stadium
was the place to be in Cen-
tral Texas as the #7 state-
ranked Elgin Wildcats
romped over the EastView
Patriots 70-7. Homecoming
2013 was a true celebration
of the past, present and fu-
ture of Elgin High School.
Punctual fans were
treated to a trio of sky-
divers that presented an
enormous American flag,
and the ceremonial game
ball. With excitement per-
meating the stadium, the
Wildcats would not disap-
point. After an early ex-
change of scores, the Cats
would begin a streak of 63
unanswered points. When
the dust settled, the Elgin
offense had amassed 520
yards rushing and 138
yards through the air. RB
Da'Trean Simmons would
rush for a season-high 287
yards and four scores.
QBs Te'Rel Simmons and
Kyle Snell scored the first
two rushing touchdowns,
and the Wildcats would
never look back. After a
De'Kovin Vincent intercep-
tion and 73-yard return, the
Cats would score four plays
later with a Da'Trean Sim-
mons 1-yard run. The
drive's big play was a Kyle
to Colin Snell connection
for a 14-yard completion.
The Elgin defense would
force an East View punt,
and two plays later Kyle
Snell would connect with

would not threaten again
as the Cats' defense stiff-
ened and thwarted every
Patriot drive.
Kyle Snell would begin
the second half scoring fes-
tivities with a crafty 4-yard
run. Elgin runners con-
stantly benefitted from a
dominant offensive line led
by: Elio Garfias, Elijah
Simpson, Ty Norton, Chris
Rogers, Jesse Tamez,
Hunter Gordon, Tyler
Wooten, Cedric Thomas,
Bruce Dodd, Jacob Pekar,
and Josh Ficklin. " Our of-
fensive execution was
much improved over last
week, and our offensive
line was a big reason why,"
Offensive Coordinator
Bryan Muschalek stated.
A 56-14 lead to begin the
fourth quarter would be
added to on a pair of Jor-
dan Smith touchdown runs.
Service and Compassion from
a family that genuinely cares.
