A Bastrop County Grand Jury
handed down three indictments
against Precinct 4 Commissioner
Bubba Snowden on Dec. 12.

Snowden was arrested and later
released on a $75,000 personal
recognizance bond the same day,
according to the Bastrop County
Sheriff’s Office.
Snowden is charged with three
counts of abuse of official capac-

and Cathy Chriske spoke to
council about ongoing is-
sues they had in their areas
of Elgin. The most promi-
nent of issues mentioned
in each neighborhood was
speeding.
Fiig, who lives in the
Westwind subdivision,
asked if it might be possi-
ble to install speed bumps
on Western Sky Boulevard.
The street is the main en-
tryway to the Westwind
neighborhood.
“There’s no stop signs
along there, other than the
side streets coming in, and
everybody seems to use
that main street as a drag
strip,” Fiig said.
“We moved here, every-
body in that neighborhood
moved here because we
