Austin through Elgin died in
a car accident on New Year’s
Day.
Liana Isabel Lecklitner,
born September 1, 1994 ac-
cording to her obituary from
Providence-Jones Family Fu-
neral Home, was involved in
a fatal one-vehicle accident
around 7:45 a.m. on January
1. The accident occurred on
U.S. Highway 290 near the
intersection with South State
Highway 95. She was driv-
ing westbound on Highway
290 on her way back home in
Austin, where she was a stu-
dent, according to the Elgin
Police Department. No other
vehicles or people were in-
volved in the accident.

beside westbound Highway
290 around 7:45 a.m. while
he was driving to Bastrop.
The westbound lane of High-
way 290 between Highway
95 and Loop 109 was shut
down between about 8:00
a.m. and 11:00 a.m on Jan-
uary 1.
EPD said the accident is
still an open investigation
while detectives continue
gathering information and
waiting for laboratory re-
sults.
According to an article in
the Palm Beach Post, Leck-
litner’s mother and stepfather
live near West Palm Beach,
Florida, while her father lives
in Ledbetter, Texas. Lecklit-
ner grew up in Lake Worth,
a city near West Palm Beach.
