April 7, 1890 — From conversa-
tion with farmers and citizens of
in downtown Brenham. Entirely
too many porkers squealing up
and down the streets. Even the
colored boys tried to catch some
of the largest hogs. Thirty six
hogs were rounded up and im-
pounded. Then it was discovered
that his honor, the mayor, had
one or two hogs running loose.

There’s nothing you can put on your floors that’s quite as smart
as wall to wall carpet! Here is the ultimate in appearance, mak-
ing your rooms look larger and much more “tailored”—and, at
the same time, so practical from the standpoint of ease of main-
tenance. This superb offer is based on enough carpet and pad,
plus installation, for two average rooms in today’s newer, more
compact homes. Each “package” is based on use of 30 square
yards of carpet . . . but, if your needs are more or less, it will
be figured in proportion. So—you get the benefits of this offer
regardless of what your requirements may bp. Come in tomor-
row!

The farmers were tickled because
the rain means their crops, dust-
ed in, will come up and meadows
and pastures will spring up with
grass and cut down the feed bill
after a long, cold winter. Mer-
chants were pleased because a
threatened drouth is broken and
fanners can spend freely with as-
surance that their crops are safe.
That means better business. Some
stockmen obtained relief from
hauling water for their livestock.
It seems that everybody is happy
about the whole thing. — Specta-
